Today you’re one of the most successful web influencers, but what did you want to become when you were little? And do you still have unrealized dreams?

As a child, I always dreamed of being a singer. I still carry this desire with me, even though I’m aware that, to do it professionally, I should engage, study and train.

Beatrice Bruschi

My passion for acting was born when I was a child, I always liked theater and cinema. In the elementary school performances, I was the one who always played the part of the bad witch, because I liked to play with my voice and my appearance.

Where does your passion for acting come from?

My passion for acting was born when I was a child, I always liked theater and cinema. In the elementary school performances, I was the one who always played the part of the bad witch, because I liked to play with my voice and my appearance.

Tell me about how you were cast on Skam.

When I got the audition, I was very enthusiastic about the project, especially about Sana's character. The day I met Ludovico Bessegato, I immediately felt that this was a project not like any other I had done before, it felt special to be a part of it. In fact, I’m infinitely grateful for this experience.

How much does the character you play in Skam represent you? What side of your character, Sana, do you like the most and the least?

Sana and I have many things in common. When you play a character for a long time, it’s inevitable that you inherit sides of the character’s personality and vice versa. I think Sana’s ability to endure is one of the aspects that make her more mature than her age.

In Skam, we see the real unfiltered life teenagers face. Do you think many young people identified themselves with the Skam characters? What’s the topic that impressed you the most among the ones that’re addressed in Skam?

The most beautiful aspect of Skam is that it allows many kids to feel represented. When I meet them and they tell me that I helped them, it’s because for the first time in their lives they’re seeing their real life being documented. I would’ve liked so much to be able to watch such a TV series in my teenage years, it would certainly have helped me. Skam deals with many topics and all very important. Perhaps, also because of my role, what struck me most is that of religion. There’s so many things to learn and discover. The only weapon against ignorance is information.

I noticed, through your Instagram posts, that you’re very much into sports. Specifically swimming, boxing and even American football. Out of all of them, which do you enjoy the most?

Sports have always been a part of my life: fortunately my parents are very sporty and, since I was a child, they made me understand how important it is to practice it. At the moment, I train a lot with my dad, we do Muay Thai. By the way, he’d like me to go up to the ring and fight, but he hasn't convinced me yet.

If you had to make a wish, in what film and role would you have liked to play? What’re the 3 films that took you to a dream world?

A dream of mine has always been to play the role of Padme in Star Wars: yes, I’m a nerd. The three films that made me dream are definitely ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, ‘Amadeus’ (I'm a fan of Mozart) and ‘Into the Wild’.

What was working with Ludovico di Martino like? Is there an actor or director you’d particularly like to work with?

I was quite impressed with Martin, he really gets teenagers. I'd like to work with Bessegato again, as there was a fantastic harmony on set. If he was still alive, I’d certainly have said Kubrick.

Let's talk about fashion, how'd you describe your style? What can’t be missing from your wardrobe?

Well, I’m not into fashion. I mean, I like it, as long as it's strictly black.

Skam gave you fame. In fact, even on social networks, you’re very popular. What’s your relationship with social networks and your fans?

The Skam fan base is wonderful. The love fans show you is amazing! I wish I could be more present and able to reply to all the messages they send, but it’s impossible to answer them all.

If you were to win an Oscar tomorrow, how would you open your thank you speech during the ceremony?

If I won an Oscar, I’d probably be too excited to speak.

What’re your plans for the future?

I wish I could start university, which for different reasons I can’t attend.

To conclude, what’s your first thought in the morning and the last before going to sleep?

My first thought is to go and kiss my little dog Titanus. In the evening, I usually think a lot before I sleep, I like to reflect on the day.

Sana and I have many things in common. When you play a character for a long time, it’s inevitable that you inherit sides of the character’s personality and vice versa.
