Special Project

International brands see the future in the colours of the rainbow

The number of brands that support the LGBTQ+ community is ever-growing, with designers defending the rights of this community’s members and promoting equality. During Pride month and beyond, among exclusive projects, donations and capsule collections in the colours of the rainbow, the big fashion brands on the international scene give their contribution. Making people think about relevant issues and highlighting the importance of asserting one’s identity and, at the same time, claiming one’s freedom of expression. In addition to launching a rainbow-coloured T-shirt and hat with logo, Versace auctioned off a replica of the leather jacket worn by American actress and singer-songwriter Lady Gaga during her world tour and donated all proceeds to the Born This Way Foundation. To support the LGBTQ+ community, Marcelo Burlon County of Milan made the ‘LOVE IS LOVE’ limited edition collection and decided to donate the proceeds from the sale of the T-shirt styles in this collection to REFUGE LGBT, the first halfway house for LGBTQ+ youth in Italy. Lastly, American sportswear brand Reebok donated money to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, launched a capsule collection designed by the LGBTQ+ community within the company and presented a video for their Pride 2021 campaign, that was shot in the iconic House of Ninja ballroom. Now, it’s your turn to support this large, colourful and very beautiful community, helping to build a more inclusive future!
